So I’m kind of on a blogging strike because I want to do a million and one other things with my time. Like sleep, eat, plan birthday parties, etc. I’ll post as soon as I get that blogging itch again, and there will be pictures!
When considering a family walk to get some exercise (and ice cream to offset said exercise) be sure to ignore the forecast. This may allow you to get caught in a rainstorm. Once this is accomplished, do not lose sight of your goal to get ice cream, your little one can brave out the wind and rain. If you’re really lucky you might even get struck by lightening!
To my chagrin, I must admit that it is official. I am OLD. I’ve reached the year of my 10-year high school reunion. (Of course, so has Jason.) Drat.
On a positive note, my “little” brother Daniel just graduated from high school. We helped out with the open house that took place a few hours after it was official last Saturday. Way to go Dan! He has already moved on to the next stage of his life, working for our brother Tim’s pest control business in Washington D.C. for the summer. As an aside, Tim is currently employing his wife Kelsey, siblings Ben, James, Jenna and Daniel, and cousins Jeremy, Scott and Ashley. Yet another benefit of being from a large family; there’s plenty of help to go around.
Aunt Jacque made these fantastically delicious graduation cap cookies - made of chocolate peanut butter covered graham crackers, mini Reeses, chocolate chips and *I think* fruit roll-ups. Oh yum and oh so cute!
After the festivities, we took Alexander over to Aunt Ginger’s for his first dip in her pool. I think it was heated to about 82 degrees and Alex absolutely loved it! He kept trying to jump out of my arms and would have loved to crawl on the water if it were possible! Who knows how much water that boy swallowed?
This was after he dunked himself - quite a surprise for the poor boy!
Alex is 11 months old today! That means I have been planning his first birthday party(ies) for about one month already…even though he won’t remember it!
He is standing on his own, but not taking any steps unless he is holding on to something.
He has three teeth that are emerging at once - two top and one bottom - to add to his two bottom teeth that he’s had for a while now.
He likes to feed himself. Sometimes he takes on more than he can chew.
Alex loves his tongue, and shares it with us regularly.
He often growls when he’s playing with his toy truck and car, and for cheap entertainment, you can get into a growling match with him.
Among his favorite places to explore are the dishwasher and the fridge.
Basically, he’s just a happy little boy and we love him!
